“After I retired, I wanted to help out our community in some way through volunteerism. After attending the market one summer as a customer, I saw that they had a volunteer tent, so I went over to talk to them and signed up. It has been a fun and rewarding experience! The rewards are many. There is the camaraderie and friendship that develops between fellow volunteers through your shared love of supporting local food and artesian vendors. You meet lovely community members (many regulars) who you look forward to seeing week after week. You get to hear awesome live music while volunteering, chat with the awesome vendors, and meet dogs...lots of dogs (maybe my favorite part haha). I look forward to this every spring”
2026 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Info Booth 9am - 1pm every Sunday
provide support at info booth - this includes: answering customer questions, selling merchandise, punching customer loyalty cards
Customer Count 9am - 1pm every Sunday
stand at either end of market and keep track of customers entering from your end for a designated 10 minutes every hour; record counts in info tent binder (2 volunteers per week)
Taste It Tent one Sunday per month from 9am - 1pm
offer samples of that month’s featured food item, engage with customers about the product, and hand out information

manage sunflower judging contest: log and measure entries from 9am-12pm, complete judging at noon and notify winners; hand out prizes

Mother’s Day - May 10 - hand out free flowers to first 100 Moms
Father’s Day - Jun. 14 - hand out free giveaways to first 100 Dads
Dog Days of Summer - Jul. 12 - sell raffle tickets
National Farmers Market Week - Aug. 2 - hand out BINGO cards and record raffle entries
Salsa Fest - Aug. 30 - sell raffle tickets, sell tickets to tasting tent (2 volunteers needed)
Halloween - Oct. 25 - 2 volunteers needed - manage costume contest, manage pumpkin carving contest
